Ok guys, here's the deal. I'm going to go and get one of these 'stats today. And I just was wondering if someone had like pictures of how to do it, like where it's located and what not. I can't read something and figure it out, I have to actually see how it's done.

Anyone help me out?

Would the service manual have pictures on how to do it?

Thermostat is at the bottom of the engine bloch where the lower radiator hose attaches. Two bolts hold the housing on.

Before opening up the thermostat housing drain the radiator first then replace the antifreeze when you are done. If you do not do this you will have a gusher when you open the t'stat housing.

I would say only if you plan on doing mods in the future.

I would wait till you get some mods done first. The 180 t'stat change out is only recommended with the Jet Chip Stage II. Get a CAI and less restrictive exhaust done first.

Is there any problems passing smog checks with the 180Tstat?

I heard the engine never really warms up thus throwing the computer off causing it to richen mixture as if it was still cold.

BUT, it is just hearsay.

For towing in the summer months it would be nice to run a little cooler.
