Default Exhaust quessions

I was wondering if anyone has just removed the resonators from the stock exhaust and what the results were? Also this is a noob question if you remove the resonators either in a cat back or just having meineke replace the muffler with a flowmaster will I fail emissions? i wouldnt think so but just wanted to make sure. Also last one what is the size of the stock size of the exhaust

i cant answer all of those but i think our exhasut is 2.5...not sure someone else will help you.
you wont fail emissions thats what a cat is for, and no one gets tested for that outside of cali unless u get pulled over for something dumb
taking off resonators help if thats all you do...its a quick cheap way to sound a little stronger but not good for performance, better to throw in 50 bucks for a good muffler.

So if I go with a smaller pipe like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...spagenameZWDVW

I will see minimal gains, 2.5 a little more but 3 is the best. Is it better to get the muffler into one pipe or the fake duals?

do NOT buy that kit. please. i did the fake duals but im pretty sure performance wise it's better to go single 3" in and out. but do something fun....just get the muffler and have a shop bend some pipe out the side of ur truck....BEFORE the rear wheel not after it like stock... it will probly be cheaper than the kit plus it will look muuuuch better. besides im the idiot who bought that exact kit on ebay and only used the muffler and the pipe that goes from cat connector to straight pipe...which is like 14 ins. long. waste of money and his kit didnt fit. ok enough ranting... go custom 3" single.

i went with the imco 3 inch and had a shop do the install 250.00 out the door. most places if you pay in cash no sales tax. check the link at the top of the page. they have diagrams and sound links. people always ask me were i got my duals from and they are shocked to only find out it is a single.
