or, u can buy the muffler and tips (or just muffler) and take it to a shop and have them fab up their own pipes, that would probally be cheaper, thats what i did on my ram

3" is too big? Why do you say that? do you feel it was hurting your performance? I agree that the"y" pipe has to go. I'm gonna get a "2 inlet,1 outlet" muffler and replace the y pipe with it, 2, 2" pipes going in the muffler, and 1, 3" coming out.

So I've been talkin to alot of my friends and other people I know around here and they all say I'd be better off getting a kit for like 475 and doin it myself vs. getting a shop to do it...they all seem to think it'll cost me more at a shop.

I think I'm going with a shop...the kits are too expensive...shops around here run just what Eric's saying...$200-300, maybe a bit more if you want a complete dual exhaust, cat back, with stainless. I think that'll run ya closer to $500....a straight pipe should be nice and cheap, though. Plus, with getting the kit and doing it yourself, you need to find someone to weld it all together (if you can't).

Eric...how loud is it in the cab without the muffler? (just the straight pipe and resonators)
