IAT relocate...again?
I'm sorry to beat a dead horse but i'm too lazy to look for this anywhere else.... could i PLEASE have some details on how to extend the wires in an IAT relocate on the intake. I have a k&n plastic tube. so i need to know how to make the wire longer and what to drille the hole with, is the exact size 1/2 inch?..andhow far down should i put it...are there advantges toplacing it relly far down or is there a sweet spot?i think that's all my questions...
IAT, you mean that thermostat that goes into the side of the hose right before the tube goes to the TB? I just spliced the wires, and added just enough wire to get it where I wanted it, then i used heat shrink tubing to seal them...solder your wires together too.
wrong. make sure you use 16 guage wire and not some cheap stuff. i bought 2 feet of 16 guage wire. 1 foot of white and 1 foot of blk that way i could tell the diff. simply cut the sensor from the original harness giving you more than enough room to splice in the new wire. keeping in mind the color code. when you drill out your intake start with a pilot hole then work your way up to the size needed. dont go to fast or you will heat up the tube and weaken it. i put my sensor right in the middle of the air cone. but some people put it in the tube. try to insert the sensor on the other side of the heat shield that way the engine heat still wont affect it that much. for 3.00 its a lot cheaper than the power wire. and doesnt make truck lean out
