Talk to me about DVD systems......
"Whoooooooooooo lives in a pineapple under the see?" SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!!!!
Sorry, my kid is almost 2 and a half so I know what you mean!! We had a DVD player in our Trailblazer but we took it out because he would get very upset when you shut it off to get out. So that is now sitting in the office at home. Maybe try it again when he's a little older.

I haven't seen a movie that isn't Disney or Spiderman in I don't know how long. Although last night I got to watch Maximum Exposure because he was really into that show. On every video he would keep saying ouch. Then they had a video of a guy racking himself on a grind pole and he screamed ouch and and got so tense he was shaking!! It was too funny!!
ericemery you dont have to bypass the kenwood. Alpines have to have the switch on them. I work at a car audio shop and sell them both. The ones that have to have the switch are just a pain the the A$$ everytime you get into the car you have to put your foot on the brake and flip the switch.

I would do this... JVC AVX2 head unit. under $400. Alpine 7 inch headrest monitors. (check around, they retail at around $400 each but you can get a pair for the same price on ebay...) The nice thing about the headunit is it will play DVD on rear screens while driving with no mods or bypasses. the Kenwood doesnt unless you bypass the neutral safty switch... you could have less than 800 into it if you find a good deal on screens and install... (another good durable screen is the Directed screens, they run around $200-250 each...)
good luck with system. the only downside to this set up is you cant listen to music while your kids are watching ****....errr. I mean a movie.

No man... the kenwood has the green black neutral detection wire... It is not legal for any company to manufacture an in-dash that plays DVD while driving. Nav units dont have to be in park or neutral... you have to hook the ground and green/black up to a relay so it can come out while driving... I do it on the side all the time.

It isnt legal, and any reputable shop wont tell you. I do them on the side... and for those that want to know... all you have to do on the pioneer and kenwoods is ground the parking sense wire... on units with motion detect like the new Pioneer Avic's and alpine models... you need to get a relay and hook it up to invert polarity. then just invert the polarity to the motion sense wire...
