does any one get a really bad idle when they are cranking out the power steering at slow speeds? when i make a sharp turn in a parking lot my truck almost turns off the jumps back to life...is it supposed to do that?

I can understand rough idle, etc...but when it shuts down when you're pulling a hard turn at low speed doesn't sound right. I'd get that checked out.

Well I know you can definately do that with a manny...but Idk if it should be shuttin down with an auto tranny...the problem is that when you crank the power steering ur putting a larger load on the engine so it has to handle it but if its idling too low it will start to stall... whether this is a design prob with the dakota...or a sensor prob with ur particular dakota...idk...but thats all just my 2 cents anyway.
