Default center console questions

i have an 06 with the split bench front seats. what im looking to do is take out that center seat with the armrest on it and replace it witha new console. what im looking for is either one of the ones from the older model dakota's or get the center console that comes with the dakota's with bucket seats.

what my real question is has anybody tried this? will it work or will i have to pull the front seats and get the buckets to get the console?

any information would be appriciated

If you have split bench I think the center seat/console is part of the drivers seat (or maybe it's the passengers) they may not come apart.

I have the split bench...it's a 40/20/40 split....the center section is indepedent of the other two (and doesn't move). The console is attached to the floor.

Here's the deal: If it can fit in a 25x25x25 box and is around 50lbs, it'll cost around $46 to ship. The size of the box is crucial. If you add lenth+2xheight+2xwidth(length + circumference)the total must be under 130 inches. The seat is only around 10-12 inches wide, so, provided that you can find the right box it should work. how much do you want for the seat?
