Last Friday, my brother and I went to the local track for Friday night test and tune. He ran his Toyota Sienna and I ran my Dakota. There's another thread about the outcome, so I won't go into the results again. This Friday I ran my 2006 Honda Odyssey EX. 3.5 V6, 244hp, 4537lbs, 2800 miles on the odometer. I ran at the same track (Capitol Raceway, Crofton, MD). It was significantly cooler this week (62F vs 88F) and the barometric pressure was 30.09. Definately better conditions than last week. Based on "feel", I expected the Odyssey to be a little quicker than my Dakota (2006 Club Cab AWD 4.7 HO) but magazine track times for the Odyssey indicated that the Dakota might win this one. The only way to find out was to run it - track times don't lie. Here's the damage:
Dakota (last week's run): 16.693@81.27mph
Odyssey: 16.228@85.35
Minivan wins by .465 seconds and 4.08mph. This isn't the result I was expecting, but at least I can claim my Odyssey is quicker then my brother's Sienna. I'm thinking that the Dakota will get a little quicker when it gets some more miles on it - it's barely broken in.I'll given it another try this fall when the Dakota has a few thousand miles on it and the temps are a little cooler.

Dak attack!
If the V70 has the same engine as the XC70 it should be pretty damn fast. I've driven the XC, they're very surprising for a wagon I generally consider an old person car

Record Breaker
that seriously makes me mad that a minivan is faster than my truck. my truck runs consistant 17.4's.
Captain
the xc 70 is a turbo 2.3L 5 cyl. w/awd only. My wifes is the normally aspirated 2.4 2wd. It's no slouch either. If you hold the pedal to the floor it shifts @ 7000rpms. grocery getter; ha!
Dak attack!
