Default Jet preformance chip

Hey guys I'm looking at the jet chips and just had some questions. I was wondering if I would need to use the high octain fuel if I were to get the stage 2 chip? and Is anyone using this chip currently? I just want to know how much they improve your system to see if its worth it.

From Jet's website:

Stage 2-Designed for the performance enthusiast, the Stage 2 features more aggressive programming to make the most horsepower and torque available. Fuel and timing curves are extensively modified for peak performance and drivability. Requires use of 91 octane fuel, 180 degree thermostat and free flow exhaust. Also works well with aftermarket intake systems, mass air sensors, TBI spacers, etc.

Oh and one other question, if you are useing one of these chips because of gas price are you seeing a change in your fuel economy? If theirs no change or an improvement I'll consider getting one.

If you want the performance that the chip is saying you'll get, then yes, you need premium, otherwise, you can use the cheaper stuff. As far as mileage, I haven't seen a whole lot of difference in it. I might have gained a little, but not enough to brag about it.

I've been using the StageII since March. I felt a difference in the taking off, but I also bought a bigger throttle body. The only thing that I haven't done yet is change the tstat like I'm suppose to. That's for the lack of time and funds. I have it, but I haven't bought new coolant to flush my system with.

Duh.... But I'm due for a flush. I think I'm about 4,000 miles over for a flush, plus I need to get some more Royal Purple so I can change the oil too. That's pretty pricey there.
