Your doors must be different than the ones on my 06 QC. When I put my Alpines in all I did was pop the door panel, remove the factory speaker and screw mine right up to it. The adapter from Best Buy plugged right in. Did all four doors in less than thirty minutes and a large part of that was figuring out the first door. After that, I was off the races.

I mean I didn't have to make any tabs to adapt the fit. I just used the adapter ring that came with the speakers themselves and screwed them right to the factory spacer ring. I really didn't intend on putting them in myself, but Best Buy is such a pain the a$$ about installs. If I'd bought a $99 car stereo they'd have done it same day. $500 worth of Alpine speakers requires a four day appointment that they can't even guarantee they'll be able to meet. Luckily, I was on vacation so I had the free time to play around with it.
