Alarm goes off when I dont use the remote!
Hey has anyone else experienced this problem??
when I go to open my door, lets say I don't want to use the remote, or in my case, the remote died and I HAVE to unlock my driver door by inserting the key and turning it. Everytime I do that, it sets off the alarm! It's so darn annoying. Wanted to know if anyone else had this problem or if it was just me; I'm going to the service on friday to get the key fixed. thanks!

I know Jim, that my friends Suby Outback did that, until he changed the battery in the remote...
Maybe give that a look...
I don't know otherwise... check everything before bringing it in, cuz if it's a new battery, and they have to look your truck over, expect about a 40 dollar battery change....
Maybe fuses, I dunno if there's a fuse or not for this... but check em anyways. ;-)

yeah, its supposed to do that in most cases... do you lock it by hitting the lock button on teh door befor you get out? if so, I'd try locking it with the key, and unlocking it that way... your alarm is seeing 2 different things... a voltage drop from the door opening and turning on stuff, and its not seeing a disarm signal from the FOB... if you lock it with the key, it wont look for disarm from FOB it will look for manual disarm from key... If that doesnt work, then you need a new battery for the FOB. lol
well no, it shouldn't do that, if I lock the door without the remote, then i come back later, unlock it without the remote again, the alarm will start honking. It did this before, but since I use the remote all the time I didn't worry about it. The key itself is broken anyways, one night I got out, and the rubber button to lock the truck came out, and I didn't realize it until I was 15 miles away [:@]. It's just annoying that they have a key hole in the door, but if you use it it makes the alarm sound.

so I checked my truck out when I left earlier... I locked it with the fob and unlocked with the key... it sounds.
lock it with the key, unlock with the key. no sound
I didnt try to lock it with the key and unlock with the fob, but I am sure it wont sound...
your truck is seeing an arm signal but no double phase disarm... you might need to use the fob to disarm the alarm.
BTW did you go with upgraded MOPAR alarm or just entrance security?

I did go with the upgraded security system, that uses a different starter fuse that becomes activated when I press the button on my other remote. But nothing other than that.

well, the mopar also has a more sophisticated brain unit that makes it real fun to install aftermarket units... I actually used to hate the Mopar alarms when I was installing at ABC warehouse... it takes a bypass and 2 relaypacks to get around all teh bull crap they set up...
