I used to own a Saab that had a HORRIBLE brake dust problem. Put those dustshields on and it defintely helped - only issue is thatthey covered the entire brake set-up. In my opinion makesthe carlook likeit had hub caps on instead of alloy wheels! Took them off after a week and paid the extra money for low dust pads.

Make sure your rear brakes are adjusted properly. If not the front brakes overwork and creates extra dust.

What do you mean adjusted properly... I mean they're drum brakes... is there anything you can adjust on them?

When I detail my truck, I spray the wheels once with wheel cleaner, rinse, then spray again. Then, while I'm washing the truck, I wash the wheels again, then, I take window cleaner (no ammonia) and a rag and clean the hell out of them.

Depending on what time of the year it is, I'll take mothers chrome polish and polish the crap out of them.

And actually, I detail my truck everytime I wash. Can't stand a dirty truck.
