throttle body
what if we have minor mods like chip intake exhaust 180 t-stat and an electric fan...would 68.5-69 be better? 68 to 70 is quite a difference. but so is removing the cone effect. i was thinking of going 68.5

I would think that anything under 70 would be OK, but if you run a little better than stock like the 68.5 it wouldhelp with the low end. increasing diameter will in turn increase airflow, so moving the tq curve towards the big end... my hypothosis anyway.
No you're absolutely right about the torque curve, I just want it to be even with my extra mods. 68 is good for stock...so i would imagine if you had more, save for cams, you should meet it in the middle. couldnt hurt low end much.
So I'm not sure what the Consensus is... is 68 good, or 70... or 68.5... I mean I want as fast a truck as I can get... but I also don't want it to be able to accelerate... sooo what...yeah I'm still confused [sm=dontgetit.gif]
Hey, Superdak....That sure looks like an Airaid throttle body spacer you got there in the background of your picture. You're not really going to use that paperweight, are you? You should know better!

yes it will. if you go to big then you wil lose a lot of low end grunt. but in the higher rpm range it will be a screamer. but if you keep the stock cam set up the refabbed 68 will be just fine. you will notice the truck will not be so sluggish off the line. it will maintain speeds while going up a hill with the cruise on and it will even drop your rpm a little while cruising on the highway

Recommended sizes:
Working with the 4.7 motor has shown 68mm to be the optimal size for street performance use. This is the size I recommend. I can machine both the Dodge 4.7 99-2000 65mm and 2001-present 68mm TB's to a True 68.50mm bore.
As for KRC, don't go to them for too much. They're way over priced. Fastman sells them a whole lot cheaper than KRC.
If you talk to Dan, he also sells the performance cams and can reprogram the ECU. You'll be looking at about $1500 after all is said and done with just those three things. That's quite a bit of HP/TQ for the price.
I was going to go with a 69mm just to one up the stock, but he said that I would do a lot better with the 68.5. If you're going to get a S/C, then get the 72mm, but don't install it until you get the S/C.
