noobee questions... gear ratio?/? recall?
Hi i'm a new member i bought a used 06 DakotaSLTcrew cab. V8 auto4x4 with all of the trim and extra stuff. I hear everone talkin about some recalls where would i look on my truck to see if my truck was one that had recall issues? I have no owners maunal...it didn't come with one.. and where would i look to find my gear ratio. I don't really do a whole lot of workin on cars. (I'm a MP) I really want to level it out and put a body lift on it. and really don't want to replace gears, and spend a ton of money, old Uncle Sam doesn't pay too well... Is it difficult to install a body lift? I lifted a 2wd s10 prerunner and a 91 4x4 silverado. both suspension. and that was a few years back. I'm tryin to lift the Dak without breakin the bank and sending the wife into cardiac arrest... Does anyone know where i can buy a cheap well made intake? ANY and All Advice and help/input would be greatly Apreciated. Thanks!
You can get gear ratio and recall info by calling a dealer and giving them your VIN#. If you go in they can actually print you off a sheet of all factory options that are on your truck. To level it out check out the Trailmaster 2" leveling kit, it's a set of machined spacers that go in the front. There is a 3" body lift out too, I forget who makes it but there are a few posts about it floating around here.
If you look in the glove box, there should be a rectangular piece of paper that gives you that info. That is, if the previous owner didn't remove it.
