hey guys, what's the P/N on the back of your key? i just have the key with remote entry and a panic button. the PN on it is: 56038751AE

I bought another key that said it was for a 2005 Dakota, but the PN on it is 05183348AA, and it will start the truck, BUT the dealer said they can't program the remote to work becaus eit's on a different frequency than what my truck is able to read; makes sense, but it doesn't make sense...WHY would they make keys with different frequencies!? soooo stupid...

 

The PN for my keys are 56053000AF.

That seems dumb that they would sell you a remote that wouldn't work.

 

so weird....it is, because i'm reading a bunch of stuff here and like, the Chrysler PN that the dealer gave me is like a main number that covers all the numbers that are listed on the keys, which includes about 10 PN numbers, and the two keys I have are under those PN numbers covered. I'm going to return it to the seller and tell them it doesn't work with the 2005 Dodge Dakota.

My wife drives a Chrysler Town & Country 05' and her p/n is 04727351AC, we have one remote that has been acting funny and the dealer said that if I look on line to get one, that just about all the 05'-07' Chrysler mini vans start with a 0. Hence yours being a 05, and hers being an 04 number. So, don't know how true all that is since the remoted stopped acting up and didn't replace it, but sounds like you did get a hold of one that isn't for Dodge. Good luck!

 

yeah the key itself i've read is the correct key for 05 dakotas. Though I think the person sold me a dud, and they said "no returns, all sales final" which was NOT shown on the auction...pisses me off...now I'm going to end up paying for more than what it would have cost from the dealer....GAH this sucks...
