add black powdercoated nerf bars to my long current mods list....dad just told me in the mornin to go to auto definitions to have them put on....guess ive been doin real good at the boat shop....ill get some pics tomorrow...now im forced to get the leveling kit

 

ya the fiberglass tonneau and bed rug is a huge pill....that is a $1000 min pill vs $2XX nerf bars...but i absolutely love it...and bein where you are, it will really come in handy....i cant immagine not having one anymore...if you feel you might need to take it on and off regularly, get something like undercover tonneau and get it painted or something...but if your the kind of guy that likes bed rails, but wants a tonneau, do what i did to my ram



but now that i am gettin steps that really is pushin me towards gettin the leveling kit even more...

Nightrunner does your cover have the quick release latches?

 

if your talkin quick release to open it from the inside, yes, but i think your talkin about some type of quick release to detach it from my truck....in that case no...i have a bunch of adjustmenst on my tonneau to make it fit juuuussssssst perfect...thats why i can turn my latch with only my index finger and thumb. i also had my lock on my tonneau wired into the pass door locks so it locks/unlocks with my pass doors which means i can unlock it with my dodge key pad...but there is a connector i can unplug that in the bed, it is not "hard-wired"

 

I'll be looking forward to seeing the nerf bars added. I'm not sure I want to install any because of the extra weight.

 

its not that much extra weight...and i just picked up my truck and i love it...glad my dad got me the black powdercoated ones and not the chrome ones...i wasnt really planning on buying any for this truck, but im really happy i have them, it left more clearance than i thought, but now its very apparent that i need that leveling kit. does anyone make a better strut for our trucks?
