Default Looking to upgrade my 05 Dakota tires/rims - suggestions

This is my first post and I'm new here... so go easy on me. I'm not a car/truck expert by any means. I have an 05 Dakota and I'd like to upgrade the tires/rims on it. The stock rims are 16" and look too small for the truck. I'd like to go w/ 17 or 18" if possible w/out getting a lift. Is this possible? Any suggestions for a good combo? I had the brake shutter problem when I first got the vehicle and have had my rotors replaced which fixed it. It still feels like a bit of a bumpy ride though and I was told replacing the stock aluminum rims and getting new tires would fix this problem. All comments appreciated!

The selection of 18" tires is much better than 17" so that should be a consideration.
