And you are the forum Dodge god? Eric has mentioned you twice yet you've not posted (until now) in this thread.

So, what's the story in syn fluids?

Less friction = more freed up power, and better mpgs...

I'm only getting 24.3mpg hand calculated on the highway at 62mph, in a 4wd v8 6spd Dakota...

Is that with engine, tranny, and diffs?

Auto is probably easier to change than manual. Or at least in FWD cars it is.

I dunno 10+ quarts of oil seems a lot less easy to change, as well as having to change the filter all the time....

3.5 quarts, no filter...

Manual transmission, yes please, I'll take two.

Ok, just got back from the German festival at teh fairgrounds. It was raining on the way there. Guess I need to get used to...: 1) RWD again, 2) a pickup again. The ***-end likes to slip and slide. Once I was at a light and giving it gas like a granny and it still spun. The 4x4 part may come in handier than I thought. So anyway, let's talk.....

TIRES!!!

The tires on it are factory if I had to guess since it's less than 6k on the clock. 245/70/16 seems a bit narrow for 4600+lbs. Realize that I'm coming from the Spec V which had 215/45/17 stock. Right now I'm going to stick with the original tires but I want to know what my options are in 30k miles (1 1/2 yrs for me).

I don't want larger tires, just wider. I don't need off-road tires either as most of Balitmore is paved. Something with less sidewall would be nice but then I've not had a vehicle that rides this high before.

I didn't see any other optional sizes on tire rack.

Speaking of which, my old B2600 Mazda had an adjustable ride height. An airgun and 4 nuts and it was changed. Is there anything like that on this one?
