Default 4x4 Suspension Question

Why does no one make a decent suspension lift for our trucks, other than a 2" leveling kit? Does anybody know the answer?

Yea no one realy makes much for our truck. All i know of is the 2" leveling kit and there's a 3" body lift if you have an automatic (which i don't). I know ReadyLift is in the process of making a leveling kit for the Dakota as well. If you call ChassisTech they might be able to help you out, they made a 10" lift, which, last time I checked, was for sale by the owner for about $2K i think, that was used on a SEMA truck. There's also a guy on CarDomain who is trying to make some kind of lift kit for the 4x4's but only has it ready for the 4x2s so far. I would think the suspension companies are working on something by now, i hope it comes out soon, i'd like to lift my truck too, about 6".

It might have somthing to do with the 2wd front end the dakota 4x4 has. Theres no cheap effective way to lift the front end.

Todays options are a 2" leveling kit in the front, 2" rear blocks, and some 33" tires. That will get ya 3", and thats about all we can do..

The answers I got from most suspension companies is our trucks don't sell as well as chevy or toyota so there is no demand for lift kits. Thats what I was told in several emails from several companies.

Funny thing is I see more new Daks around me than new gm midsizes or taco's. Hell the canyon/colorado can barely even call itself a truck...

I know I see at least 7 dakotas every day while driving to work. Its a shame how our trucks are ignored. My lift kit is going to be the 2 inch leveling kit which I should have by friday and 1 inch blocks in the rear and 32 inch tires. Then when my 7 year powertrain warranty runs out in 2012, time for a new truck either a ram silverado or a nissan frontier that has 10 inches of ground clearance and they make lift kits for.

yeah, same here, when my truck goes out i'm going with a RAM 2500, get some lift going on here. By 2012 they should have SOMETHING to lift our trucks you'd think...

2" is a pretty dramatic difference. At least we got that. I mean it doesnt look like a lifted truck, but at least it sits a tad bit higher then the last gen.
