I've been torn on this subject for months now and I still can't decide what to run. No matter what, the tires will have to stay on the stock rims since I can't afford both. Like Monkey said, I think 265's would look good enough without modding, but I haven't seen one with them mounted. Monkey, do you still have your front and side pics of your truck? If so, can you repost them please, since you are running the closest to that size, or anyone else. Once I get this solved then I still have to pick which tire company!! Anyone running the Uniroyal Liberator A/T's or the General Grabber AT2's? I think that's what I'll be going with. Thanks!!
Bkjtimp is running the Grabber AT2s, I think they're 31's. He has some pics in his gallery here: https://dodgeforum.com/albumphoto.as...=1&apage=1

Yeah they will fit, im pretty sure that they are 31"+ from the factory, but I could be wrong. I have 32" tires on mine now. They fit on the truck with stock ride height. 265/75 is a good size, its a tad under 32" i think.
According to TireRack, stock size is 245/70/16 and 29.5"

ORIGINAL: Handy05

ok thanks do you thin 275/70 will fit with out rubbing with the wider tires because i would like to go wider then taller thanks
A 245/70/16 is not only narrower but also shorter than a 275/70/16. The tires are 245mm and 275mm wide. They are 245*70%=171.5mm tall
and
275*70%=192.5.

That's [(171.5/25.40*2]+16=29.5039"
and
[(192.5/25.4)*2]+16=31.15748".

Those two tires are NOT the same size. Will it rub? I've no clue but don't argue with the math.

Had the AT2's for a few months now and they haven't let me down. They have little additional road noise, but have great curb appeal! Aggressive, sure footed in the rain, not really off-roaded with them, but I would imagine they'd hook up really well. For sure they'll be much better this winter in the snow from the stock Eagle GS pos that came from factory.

Thanks Altair once again for pointing me in the right direction!! BKJ, can you tell me what size you are running on your truck. Myself, I think they look outstanding and those are what I am going with. Depending on your answer, but I'm thinking the 265/75R16's is what I'll go with. Just really don't want to do any trimming and if/when I get the leveling kit, I think they will still look alright. Once that set wears out I should be able to get the 285's and the 3" body lift like Coondog, thats the look I want. Thanks guys for all your inputs! Oh, one more thing, I've got the 3.7 anyone running bigger tires have a problem with 3.7 combo?

I'm guessing this is the wrong bunch to be asking but has anyone gone to a "smaller" combination? I quote smaller because I'm not really looking to go to a smaller overall diameter but I would like to go to a "smaller" sidewall and a "smaller" weight. I've got the 16" steel rims. I've no idea what they weigh or how they compare to any other size/alloy wheel. From looking at the tires on it (Goodyear Wrangler SR-As; not Eagles???) I'm guessing the carass (rubber only) is fairly heavy. TireRack and Goodyear do not list a weight. I thought TireRack had that info...

TireRack does list weight for some tires, they probably just don't have the data on those. I would tend to think the steel rims weigh a decent bit being steel. Actually most OEM wheels are pretty heavy, especially compared to what you can get aftermarket but that all depends how much you're willing to spend. Your best bet may be to email or call TireRack and talk to them about it, from what I hear they're fairly knowledgeable.

That's why I looked there. I thought they listed weights. Maybe I'm not going as crazy as I thought.

You've not talked to them before??? Well, let me jump on that bandwagon. Those guys are great. The optional tire sizes they list, they at the very least dry fit them. Don't know if they consider full suspension travel or not (I'm guessing they do) but they won't purposely give you a bum steer. I've bought two or 3 sets of tires from them by now. DiscountTire is sometimes cheaper since they have free shipping but you can't beat the customer service at TireRack whether you buy there or not.

P.S. TireRack doesn't list any optional 16" tires. A different size rim will require me spending lots of cash on new rims. Spending $1000 on rims to save $500 in gas just don't add up!! Just made those numbers up but you get the point...
