Oh if you're only trying to save gas rims are definitely not worth it, lol. If you want them for looks anyway getting a little bit lighter ones won't hurt you though

You were in the other thread, you should know better by now... I'm cheap and non-cosmetic.

Anyone have any idea what stock rims weigh without the tires? And why is everyone complaining about Eagles? Sure they are overpriced but they are decent. And why don't I have Eagles? I have Wranglers. The truck only had 5912 miles on it when I bought it. That's a little early for most people to be considering changing them.

Anywho, regardless of weights, tire choices, etc., I'll melt these off the rims first. Give me.... oh say,... 6 months and they will be as bald as a baby's butt!!!

Probably won't take that long, I have the SR-A's also (I know I said somewhere else I had the eagles, thought I did but then I checked and I was wrong, lol). These tires are horrible, I don't think bald would be much worse, luckily they seem to be wearing out at a decent speed so hopefully I'll have an excuse for better ones soon.

I'm not sure they are a terrible tire. They stick fairly well in the turns when it's dry out tho they don't stick too well going from a dead stop. Wet traction in a RWD pick-up isn't going to be great even using F1 rain tires.

I have a couple of traffic circles that I go thru when visiting the other buildings that I have to visit on a weekly if not daily basis. I just loved them on my summer tires with the Snetra. Now that I'm in a 4600+ lb truck that sits higher than everything except semis,.... I'm still going thru them faster than the Hondas!! Being that they are 245/70/16 they aren't quite as good as the 215/45/17s and the 2800 lbs but they get the job done. They have a treadwear rating of 360 which is much higher than I like but at least they are 80k mile tires that are as hard as a rock. One plus for them is they do a fine job of complaining when I go thru the cirles. Squealing like little piggies!!!! I haven't had much of a chance to get out and really autocross test them (yet). I haven't found their breaking point in a parking lot yet so I haven't pushed them too hard. My other concern is the roll over point of the truck. I'd rather NOT find that breaking point. This is the highest vehicle I've ever owned. Even my Mazda B2600 with 29x9.5s wasn't this tall.

This truck feels kind of low to me, even with the TM kit, lol. Then again my last truck I had for any decent length of time was a 95 Silverado Z71 (you cannot kill those things). Then I drove a 94 Integra GSR for awhile so after both those extremes my Dak is sort of in the middle (god I miss the handling on that little car though).

I hate Integras!!! But only because they were the only car in the D Stock (Autox for the Spec V) that would kick my *** EVERY time. The Type Rs just couldn't be beat in that class.

I probably should have gotten a second gen Dakota Sport RT. Those were legal in SCCA Autoxing. This one damn sure wouldn't be (too high). But this one is going to be used for towing a boat eventually and I didn't want any miles on it so I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

Well, done for another day...

My 2007 Dak came new with 265/60R18s on it. I was looking at getting Nitto Terra Grapplers in 285/60R18. What are the odds those will fit without any modification?

Hey gentlemen,

Anyone running 17" rims w/o a lift? All the good rims are 17" minimum. I want to go 26565/17. Tire Diameter is 30.5", 10.4"wide, so it seems like it would work. Anyone have this on an 06'???

Thanks,

Lance
