I was curious as to how much we can pull with the 3.7 also. I have it and alot of these guys say to look in the glove box to see what kind of gear ratio you have, but I still don't about mine since my glove box is pure black and nothing in it, didn't even get an owners manual!! According to Dodge at their website its a straight 3250 pounds, although further down it says a max of 7700 pounds (if properly equiped). I think with the jeep and trailer, you'll be too heavy for a safe tow. If you do it, at least make sure to back the jeep up on the trailer.
Some years have the sticker in the glovebox and some don't, at least that's how it seems. I have an 05 and no sticker in the glovebox on mine. If you call your dealer and give them your VIN# they can tell you. Or if you go in with it you can have them print you off a sheet listing all the options on your vehicle.
The rating varies from 3250 to 7100, I think, depending on how you're equipped. Having the tow package ups your rating. Having the V-8 ups the rating. Having the auto transmission ups the rating. Having the 3.92 gears ups the rating. If you have a V-6, with the auto and 3.92s you'll probably be OK over a short distance with that weight. If you have the 3.55s, I might hesitate, but, again, depending on the distance and terrain, I might give it a try.

I'm going by the dealer in the next couple of days and I'll have them print me out the sheet. Trying to finally sort out the rear shimmy when breaking at highway speed. Thanks for the info!

I dont know too much about the V6, but can it be that different than the V8? From what was just said, my truck is a towing machine... lol V8, 3.92's, tow pckg, lsd, auto... I wouldnt pull anything weighing 6000+ though... that seems like a lot of weight for a mid-size. I pulled roughly 5000+ pounds to florida and back, but the weight was in the bed and on a trailor... I guess IDK.

Here is the link to the trialer life towing guide for 2006. You need cab/drivetrain/eng/trans/gear ratio.
06 cc 4wd 3.7 man trans w/3.55 gears = 3900lbs towing
auto trans w/3.55 gears = 4400
auto trans w/3.92 gears = 4700
for quad cabs subtract 100lbs off of each rating
your axle ratio is also on a tape wrapped around the rear axle and is coded on the door tag
I hope this helps.
