Default A.R.E cap is on!

Well, I just got back from the dealer; only two weeks instead of three. I need to clean it so I will take better pictures later...

hey, i was thinking about getting the same cap, color and everything, except for the top rails. How much did the cap and the installation run you?

I am in the Chicagoland area, so it is a bit more expensive than where you may be.
A.R.E 'Z' series cap for the truck

Cap $1695.00
Yakima Roof Rack $350.00
Taxes $175.00
Total $2,220.00

The racks are pretty nice, they lock into place and you can unlock the 'towers' and put them away. The rods are really heavy duty, metal and not plastic. It comes with a plastic cap to cover the pad they lock into. You can also remove the pads and put in a weather strip to keep crap out of the channel.

I ride my my bike on most days, I usually only drive the Dak on the weekends when I am running errands or during the week when the weather is crappy.

But, I will keep track and see if anything changes, however, most of my trips are rather short so I don't know if I will see anything major like I did with the Amsoil...

I didn't get any major change. Maybe .5 more mpg at most. The extra weight probably will even out any aerodynamic advantages.

The extra weight can't be anything more than a 150lbs, could it?

But I do see me leaving a lot more crap in the back now that I can lock it up!!
