I have the 05 club cab and wished I would have gotten the quad cab. I had my 4 year old niece in my truck once and because of her age she had the bigger car seat and she didn't feel comfortable sitting in the back. I ended up taking out the rear seats because they are useless. If you can definetly try to get a quad cab.
The quad cab definitely has more room and it might be nice to have, but I find it hard to believe your 4 year old niece had trouble fitting in the back. I've had 5 people in my club cab multiple times and one or two of my friends regularly end up riding in the back (average size 20 or so year old...).

Do they have legs, though, Rich?

I know I couldn't fit my long legs in the back...

Yeah, I probably wouldn't go for a long trip with them back there but around town and stuff under an hour it's fine. They know the rules, either don't complain or don't get in the truck, lol

Go w/ the quad cab. I was looking at the club cab until I had my wife (5' 6") sit comfortably in the passenger seat w/ my daughter in her car seat in the back. My daughter was 2 1/2 at the time and her legs were right up against the front seat. If she was already in a booster seat it might have worked. Also, once you factor in all of the other stuff you have to bring along for the kid you quickly start to run out of space. Add a second kid to the mix and you'll definately want the quad cab.

We bought a new rear facing seat. It won't fit in my QC with the seats back since I have long legs. A front one will though.

I have the Club Cab...and, even with my being 5'3" and having my seat pretty far forward, there isn't a whole lot of room back there for people. I usually only put people back there for shorter trips...longest I think I've had anyone back there was an hour, but the girl who was back there is pretty tiny herself and didn't mind.

Just made a coffee run today (bout 20 min each way) with my 5'10" friend in the passenger front and my 6'5" friend in the passenger back. That was entertaining to say the least but he did technically fit back there

I would tend to think car seats wouldn't be an issue if you attach them in the center (isn't that what that anchor is for? I can't figure out why else it would be there). If this is going to be your family's primary vehicle the club cab will probably end up being a royal pain. If the kid will usually be riding with mommy and her car is the one usually used for family trips I don't see you needing the quad though. Just my 2 cents, I'd be happy with either one, just so happens I ended up with the club cab.

I'm 6 feet tall so no one is going to fit sitting behind me. The other problem is the little hump on the back wall. The car seat didn't fit right. in a regular car the back of the seat has a steeper angle than in our trucks. The club cab is fine for storing stuff in a secure place but I sat in the rear of a quad cab at the philly auto show back in feb. and there was so much room. Heres how I test it. I sit in the drivers seat and set it to a comfortable position. Then I sit in the back behind the drivers seat. Being 6 foot if I fit in the back then its good. I don't know why I didn't look at a quad cab but I guess being single had a little to do with it and its very rare for me to have more than one passenger.

I have a 8 month old and just found out another on the way. Hands down go with the quad cab! I love mine. I'm sure you'll be able to find a good deal on a quad cab. Its really easy to get car seats in and out, and i'd never buy anything but a quad cab, i've owned other extended cabs(chevy) and don't like them as much as my quad cab. you'll be glad to have the extra room.
