iPod ?
Anyone hook up an iPod to there factory 6-disc radio? I don't want to have to by the iPod interface (part # 82209617AC) from Dodge because it is $215.00. Anyone do it cheaper? How? and How much? Thanks
You can try your luck with an FM transmitter, I've found they don't work nearly as well on our trucks as most vehicles tho. (My iBlast FM nano is crystal clear in every vehicle except my dak, do our radios just suck or something?)
I ordered the full $215.00 kit and plan to put the I-Pod Nano in the glove box. The kit allows all the I-Pod info to be displayed on the radio face and I will be able to use the steering wheel controls also for the I-Pod. The Kit is an easy plug-n-play install. The harness is installed in between the radio and the CAB-Buss. It wall also charged the I-Pod when connected. I looked for a cheaper deal but could not find one. The Aux audio jack in the standard radio (Non 6 disc) only gives you I-Pod analog audio into the radio with the AUX mode selected. There is no charging or control display interaction. I also have the free one-year Sirius scrip but I only listen to comedy channels as for the rest of the Sirius, its OK but not worth the price when the free scrip is over.[/align]
Not all the standard radios have that aux jack. I have the single CD unit and no aux, set button is there. Worse yet the SLT package is shown as having that jack... I've been wondering if I could wire one in at the back just till I can save up for a good Alpine.

Rich, what year is your truck? I thought all the '06+ Dakota's had the aux jack with the standard, single disc stereo.

Not that I don't like my truck, I love it. If it was me buying it originally I would have waited for 06 just to play it safe but I couldn't afford one of these new anyway
