Lol, I had the same thought. So far I think our gen looks better, we'll see if the sport packages can change my mind or not...

 

those are the only 2 pics I got, that truck got loaded on the semi in the background . I wont be getting any pictures anytime soon though.

 

Personally, it looks like they took the Caravan or Avenger nose and glued it onto the Dakota. I am not sure what Chrysler was going for here, but a modified Ram grill or the current Dak grill with less of a Fat lipped bumper would've been the better bet.

having seen that and remembering days from the cursed days as an import driver 2 things imediately come to mind one if that truck is even remotely different as far as suspension or engine the big companions are going to skip over the 05-07 range dak's and go immediately to this gen. the second would be the only way that grille would look good, in any way was after i had to use it to get myself unstuck from snow or mud.

 

Definitely a bigger fan of the Sport package...if I got a new one, it would have to be a Sport.

I think the new '08 Dakota is a preview of what the '09 Ram is going to look like...

 

I'm really not feeling it much. If you step back and look at the overall shape and layout of the front end it makes me feel like Dodge is now trying to play styling catch-up with Chevy as opposed to before when everyone was playing catch-up with Dodge. I'd like it a lot better if they had just shrunk the 3rd gen ram and made that the styling, lol.
