RE: Change to LED's
ORIGINAL: Night_Runner
actually, my covers come off very easily and have had them off...with the covers on, when i am in the truck at night, and my windows are up, i cannot tell my reverse lights are on, even with my led bar lit up in reverse...with my windows down, i can see but not as good as factory w/o the covers...with the covers off, windows up, i can see very little, with the covers off, windows down, its pretty decent....idk where i would mount the fogs, and i have been wondering if i should wire them in to the reverse lights, or get some with a remote so i can turn them on if i need to when im camping or something or if someone is tailgateing. i want them to be hidden, but give off plenty of light when on...idk how i would do that...

WELLLLLLLL! my backup lights were mounted and showed....BUT when my truck got hit it ripped them off so I'm going to be redoing it. When I get my truck back and put new ones on I'll figure a hidden way to do that how does that sound? Sorry I've been late responding, been busy with work and my truck is in the shop being repaired.
on VLEDs for interior lighting. you want the following:
Front Dome, you want 2x 33mm hig power SMT FESTOON
for the rear you want the 42mm festoon. Only one.
The 06 dakotas use the festoons in the front. 05 dakotas us 194 bulbs.

yes, for the exterior. You will need the following lights. They come in pairs. The list is hyperlinked to the correct bulbs that you need to do the switch. You also need to buy 6 (3 pairs) of the 25ohm load resistors in order for the tail, parking, and reverse lights to work correctly.
Exterior:
3157 Red LED Tail Lights
3157 Yellow LED Parking Lights
3157 White LED Backup/Reverse Lights
921 - Cargo and 3rd Brake Light (buy 2 pairs, both white, no load resistors needed)
194 - License Plate Lights
LOAD RESISTORS
And if you have the stock fog lights kit you will either need H10 or 9006. You will need to check which model you have before purchasing.
Interior:
2005 Dakotas:
194 Flank bulbs (your choice of colors) - Front Dome Lights
42mm Festoon bulb - Rear Dome Light
2006+ Dakotas:
33mm Festoon bulbs (buy 2) - Front Dome Lights
42mm Festoon bulb - Rear Dome Light

RE: Change to LED's
lol...i made a BIG mistake when I got my HIDs...at first I bought a stupid kit for $125. It came with these capacitor adapters that had a huge capacitor wired in, and they sent me one with a bad wire so when I turned on my lights the capacitor popped and they wouldn't send me a new one even though I told them it was made wrong! So I did some researching and found www.xenon-vision.com. I got a HID kit from them for $250 and wow it's built so much better, well worth the extra money to go with them. The lights are brighter and I didn't have to deal with capacitors.
