I have to agree with the comment about too much crome. I love the color matched grille on my dakota and am very disappointed that it's not an option on the '05. Hopefully if there is enough feedback they'll bring it back. Either that or someone is going to make a killing selling them in the aftermarket.

Heh. I like the chrome myself. I'm kind of getting tired of the all-painted-one-color thing.

I just purchased a 05 Laramie V6 Quad Cab, with the 17" Chrome clad aluminum wheels. This is my first Dakota and to me it's much better looking than previous years.

I actually like the truck if you just cut off the headlights and front bumper. The rest of the truck looks good. The front end is just plain ugly

Well I must say, the new model doesn't touch the 2nd gen as far as improvements on the previous body style. The difference in 1st gen to 2nd gen was the best thing to happen to a dakota. (untill they dropped the 360 in that bad boy) But from the gen 2nd gen to the 3rd gen, well I can't say that there has been much improvement. It's more like after 8 years on the market, it's time to change something... for better or worse just change it!

I don't know how long they will keep that style. Now THERE'S a question.... [&o]

I just bought a Quadcab 4x4, and have no issues with it's looks, my priority is how the truck drives and feels inside, which is where I sit, I don't really care how pretty & cute it is outside, if I was worried about that I would have gotten a Mustang, or Corvette, not a pickup truck, or maybe just buy a teddy from victorias secret for my girlfriend, and check out her bumper all nite and enjoy the ride [8D]

But I agree on the bumpers it would be nice if I could find any body kit dealers that sell kits for the Dakota 2005s, does anyone know of any? I've looked at some online but no luck

I'm still coming to terms with the new style as well. I figure it will grow on me in time. I'm going to get a new truck next year so I have a year to adjust! I think the new Dakota would look better raised up a bit. I like the Gen 2 height, the low stance of the Gen 3 isn't as muscular looking.

I like the look myself, it will grow on you. Just like women when you were a kid you didn't like them very much , bet you don't feel that way now.
