Almost Done!
So I finally got my gears installed! I went for the 3.92 instead of the 4.10 i had originally ordered because of something i didn't know about. Since I am deployed right now, i had my wife tell me if she felt any difference. She knows nothing about vehicles, and baby's the gas pedal (perfect to break them in!) so when she said it takes of quite a bit faster from a stop sign, then i know with my foot in it it will haul a**! And I won't be sacrificing as much MPG on the highway, and bring my city MPG up(which is what i mostly do) as well. So the only things I will have left to do when i get back is a Fastman TB, new painted from bumper with fog lights, and some kick a88 black and polished 18" wheels with new rubber (thinking 33's would work with the leveling kit). Any other suggestions?
Hi white26golf. Am thinking of having same done. I have an '05 v6. Is yours a 6 or an 8? Did you have to have anything recalibrated (speedometer?). What exactly is involved here? Just changing out the rear or the axle shafts also? Cost?
I have a 6, its in my Sig. You only need the speedo recalibrated when changing overall tire size. The gears are made for your specific axle. Total parts and labor was around 450. Best upgrade you can do for the money.
