Any one here have this Exhaust system on their Dakota? I was going to buy it, but a place here in town told me that I would have to remove my spare tire for it to fit? That was before I found this site and so I went ahead and put just the 50 series Flowmaster on it and left the rest stock.
I really want the dual look out the rear sides.

I have the extreme duals and no, the spare is not affected. I love the system. You just have to have them trim the pipes back a bit.

i went with the single 3 inch catback sounds just as good as any dual set up and for 250.00 out the door i cant complain

 

Sure wish I would have known that it fit without messing with the spare tire, oh well I like what I have for now and later on down the road I can always do that system.

IMO buy a good muffler and get it custom bent by a local shop. The "systems" cost way too much for what you're getting

 

yeah I agree...taking it to a specialty shop where they have all the right tools can mean a big difference in what you get and how much work you have to actually do. Someday...i'll go to duals....I'm happy with single for the moment.

 

I have the gibson dual sport exhaust and am very happy with it. There really is no performance difference between single and dual outlet systems. I chose the dual sport system because it bolted up in the factory location and has a single in dual out setup.

 

yeah well i just bought a flowmaster 40 series....still stock pipeing 2.5 in....but i just have it exit out the rear side right before the passenger wheel and it sounds good!
