fueling an '07 Dakota....takes for frickin' ever
this is more ofa rant as I doubt there's any "fix" since there's nothing technically wrong, however it still ticks me off
when I fill up my Dak the pump's check valve will trigger and the tank will be close to full, then there's the normal fiddling around to top up the tank or to get the price to roll over to a nice even number......problem is the tank isn't full
if I'm patient (which isn't one of my stronger qualities) then I can stand and continue to pump another 5-8 liters (1 - 2 gallons for people south of the 49th parallel) into the tank if I use a really slow flow....like I said before I don't think there's any way around this and I'm sure the engineers probably have a reason for making it difficult to squeeze that last little bit of gas in but when I fill up my tank I want it to be 100% full and not 92%

IIRC, most of us (south of the 49th parallel) don't have this problem. When it clicks, its full. If I try to put anymore in there, it leaks all over the place...
The one time I tried to put in 13 cents extra to make it an even dollar I had to buy some water to rinse off the side of my truck

Do not top off! Overfilling the tank can ruin the charcoal canister that traps fuel vapors, it's part of the emissions system.

I guess I'll have to curb my obsessive compulsive ways and just be happy with 95% full
