I had the same the happening to my 05 with the same engine you have. I actually did a post about two weeks ago so its somewhere on here. I'm sure the other guys have given you the info already. They have been very helpful on here.
If your "check engine" light is not going off when this happens then its more than likely the throttle body needs to be cleaned out. I brought my truck in two weeks ago and they changed the plugs and cleaned the throttle body and I haven't had the problem since. The only bad part about it was that the warranty didn't cover it.

Thanks guys for the rapid and helpful responses. I drove the truck yesterday and it died on me too...not quite stopped rolling yet at a red light and it just quit running. No lights on the dash. A friend has an OBD2 tool and found no codes ever recorded.
I'm gonna clean the throttle body first and only.
If still dieing will change plugs...if that don't do it I'll take to dealer.
A question: If no codes found, will the dealer charge me to reflash the computer?? I am still well within the warranty window.
Thanks again, Bob

what you need to do is make them go for a ride with you and replicate the problem... make it happen. even if it takes an hour. they will not do anything for you unless they have reason to. Drag the service manager out and go for a ride... do whatever it takes to make it replicate the problem. If that means driving around the block and hitting every stop light for an hour... do it.
If they see it happen they will try to fix it and not just throw the Scanner on it.
Good luck

An update: I used carb cleaner to spray the throttle body and the odd shaped slot below and to the right of it ...nothing scientific...just used about 1/4 can of cleaner while running and shut off. That is all that I've done.
It has not died once in the month since.

i just turned 47000 miles on my 05 and never had an issue with this. your throttle positioning sensor might need a simple adjustment. it is two screws that bolt it onto the tb. you may need to loosen them up and move it a little
