Any answers for posessed 06 Rams
Since I bought my 06 new it has an electrical problem that progresses. At first, the horn, interior lights, and crago lights would go nuts. It would stop after I disconnected the battery. This happened 3 times within the first 6 months. This was also before any mods were done. Its headlights always flicker. And now my interior lights wont stay on. If I open the door they shut off within 5 seconds. If I am sitting in the truck and turn the interior lights on manually they shut themselves off withing 10 seconds. It doesn't make any sense. The truck recieved a ecm upgrade before I purchased it, and has been flashed after the first horn/lights incident.

RE: Any answers for posessed 06 Rams
well, that sounds like multiple CAN-BUS related problems. As far as the crazy flashing and speratic horn... that sounds like a ECM to me. I would lean towards a bad flash or bad chip in the ECM that wont hold a flash.
The lights turning off could also be ECM related, but it could also be the battery run down protection that newer dodges have...
The thing to remember with all newer dodge vehicles is that the CAN-BUS system controlls virtually everything from fuel to the radio's power. If anything is screwed up with the ECM, it cant tell the truck what to do via the CAN...
SO.................. What I would do is take it to the dealer and get a NEW ECU. if its not under warranty... I would try to find a quality used one.
Good luck.
