At 10 minutes I would guess that they just used the plug to siphon out the old fluid and pump in new fluid...

Just replaced the fluids.... which is really all that is required... When I say ten minutes, it was most likely longer.... It was done during my oil change by a second guy. None the less, in and out in under thirty.

YEAH well thats not bad but i do mine myself and i can just suck the fluid out but i like to take both covers off and visually inspect everything to make sure its all good and there are not alot of metal flakes or just to make sure i get all the old fluid out and take any build up or gunk that may be in there...but i do my differentials every 12,000 also the transfer case every 12,000. and the transmission every 20,000. Antifreeze I do every 20,000 also...

Fluids...All Royal Purple

75W90 Synthetic for differentials...2 1/2 quarts for front and back
For Rear Differential you still need to add the LSD fluid...Royal purple does not fully cover the LSD Applications. you can go without it but would not recommmend doing that but w/e its your differential!

Max ATFFor transfer case...2 1/2 quarts and for Drain and Refill on Transmission it takes 5 1/2 quarts but for total rebuild where the stall converter is also drained then it takes 7 quarts.

5W30 Winter 10W30 Summer
6 quarts of oil...and for yall who don't know...change your oil filter every oil change! i don't care what product says its good for 10,000 miles use it for 3-5 thousand and change it every time you change your oil....

Royal Purple ICE...Use one 16.oz bottle with your coolant in your car...works wonders and actually makes your waterpump last longer because the seals are kept up better and lubricates the whole system and adds additives that prevent corrosion and rust and scale build up in your radiator!

I changed my rear in about 30 min but that was removing the cover, cleaning it, inspecting the gears, new gasket and puting it back together. I used Amsoil severe gear, Amsoil 250,000 mile coolent, Amsoil xl 5w-30, Amsoil ATF.

I think the rear is suppost to be 75W-140, and the front 75W-90.

You are wrong about royal purple. If you use it with the LSD rear you don't need the additive its already in there. I contacted royal purple before I changed the fluid and thats what they told me. Have not had any problems with it.
Also you don't need to use 10w-30 oil in the summer. Stick with 5w-30. I use it all year round.

yeah but my buddy with the second gen dakota used it in his rear and it ****ed it up. come to find out it was due to not having the lsd fluid or something along those lines...but i mean thats why i said...its your differentiall....really its you can put it in if you want or not..I choose to just to be on the safe side. yeah but summer time i use 10W30 cause i mean think about it...summer it gets hotter its gonna thin out your oil a bit more and 5W30 is already thin enough. so thats why i just use a little bit more protection and go with 10W30 summer 5W30 summer...how i've always done it.

Well all I can say is royal purple told me it was ok so if anything gets messed up its on them. Does that purple ice work? I read in the owners manual that you shouldn't use coolant additives in our trucks. I have heard other people use it but after I read that in the owners manual I was a little hesitant about using it.
