Default Jack removal question

I have a 2005 quad cab. I can't figure out how to get the jack out from behind the seat. I found it, but can't get it out. Help!

You have to turn the jack screw as if you were lowering the jack, to put it back later just extend the jack a little once it's in the right spot.

Is that what that white plastic thing on the end of it is for? I saw it in the owners manual, but I couldn't figure out what it was telling me to do. I hate to say it, but it could have been done better.

Hydraulic floor jacks are what tire shops, and so on, use to jack up vehicles. They are easier to use than a regular jack that comes with a vehicle.

first thing I did is take that POS OEM jack out of the truck and put it in the box of other crap (dealer license plate frame, ****ty floor matts, etc.) that I find useless and will only be put back once the lease is up and the truck is returned

I remember having the same style of screw jack for an early 80's civic and it was a pain in the *** to use for a small vehicle like that....can't imagine it being all that fun to use on something that weighs twice as much

have a proper 3 1/3 trolley jack for the garage and a compact bottle jack in the truck tool box

The F-150 I have has the worst jack I have ever come across in any vehicle. It works fine in the front. But it doesn't jack it up high enough in the back. I started carrying around some 2x6's to place the jack on to get it up high enough.

Teva what kind of bottle jack to you use? I need one that will get it up high enough.

its just a run of the mill 8 ton that when collapsed is ~9" tall and when fully extended goes to 17".....I keep a short piece of 2x10 to use as a base if need be and had a 8" extension made out of 2" stock with a saddle welded on the end
