I had major problems with my socket...piece of junk, first the socket would come off, then...when i put a dab of WD40 on the inside to help it out...the rubber came out. So then I went to my dad and asked him what he had. Good ol craftsman socket that's like stinkin 30 years old worked great....
I had no problems with my booted craftman socket. I torqued my plugs to spec and also the coil pack nut. I love these plugs. No change in mileage but much better idle and smoother acellaration.
yeah same here what? but i had no problems getting mine out...but my truck is off the road for a long while...i'll hopefully have it out by July...got big plans for this thing...can anyone say 5.9L CTD? (Cummins Turbo Diesel) yeah i'm gonna swap that into my dakota...then add a few extra goodies on top of that.
The nut you put on to hold the coil pack on there. When you change the plugs you have to undo that nut to pull the coil pack off (which is right on top of the plug, built into the plug wire). Just pop the hood and look at the engine you'll notice you can't pull them off and access the plugs without removing it.
