Default My New Console

So many of you guys saw my setup before with my cb and switchs etc etc.

and if you have not seen it... here it is....

BEFORE

Well after last night in my sleep dreaming on what my new one would look like... I got off from work early today and decided to give it a shot.

took me about 7 hours from start to clean up.

First removed the standard cup hoder area.

Here is my rough in.

Putting the steel on

Another Rough in after covering it.

Getting Closer!

AND the FINSHED product!

Only the first 2 switches do anything. The others are for additions i may have. (just thinking ahead) Also the space next to the extra Power outlet is for later additions!

So whatca guys think?

x2, and i would get rid of the wood grain and w/e you decide to do to that, glass that new console but be able to access the internals somehow, and match that console to w/e you do in place of the wood grain, and follow that theme throughout the interior with other pieces. if some way you could push the console all the way back, and mold it into the center console (given you have bucket seats) or under the seat (if you have bench) it would look a lot cleaner. great idea though and looks good, just some more ideas

Well the screen is there for 2 reasons. 1, to allow some heat to escapse from the top, and 2ed that is were my external speaker is mounted for the cb.

Also to control heat i vented the front and rear of it. That way over heating will not be an issue.

And as for adding a cup holder, i 99% nover used mine. I always have a drink that is screw cap.

LOL yea, my brother has done fiberglass and says it just takes lots of time to get it right. And there is always a need to be creative with your truck!
