I thought it was bad for some mysterious emission control device (charcoal filter) if you filled-up your tank to the very top. Anyone know if this is true and why and what happens/how you know you have damaged it?
I don't have one in my dakota but I do have one in my durango and it is right on. I get between 230 to 250 miles to a tank in my dak, The only time I got 310 miles was driving up to coldfoot, AK pulling a trailer.
I never got more than 310 a tank and that was a 21 gal fill up. I average 16.2 and 95% of my driving is on the hi-way. I average about 75 MPH depending on traffic flow. I'll do80 to 90 MPH as long as I can but traffic on I-95 always slows to 70 so that’s where my average comes from. I can't squeak out any better than 16.8 mpgno mater how I drive.
Wow, I never get less than about 340 with normal driving... I have gotten over 450 miles on a tank... that was all highway driving and going about 62mph...
Maybe the HO is way worse. I use Plus grade gas too. I don't get it. Well I'll need to live with it until 2010-11 when I plan on getting somthing else.
