Default MPG gauge..

How accurate do you find the MPG gauge is? On the way to work this morning it said I averaged 21 MPG at 70 mph.

Have you guys found it to be accurate?

dont have it in my truck. i wish i had the overhead console, but i dont. i do it the old manual way.

fill up my truck, reset my trip odometer, drive...fill up my tank and take the miles driven/how many gallons used to fill the truck. i always fill it to the brim, so i always fill it to the same spot because i noticed the automatic stop seems to change at different gas stations

Over all I find it for averaging it very close to basic calculating. With in a few 10ths. I let it continue without resetting so I get the big picture.

The MPG calculator isn't bad...sometimes it's dead on, but I hand calculate every tank and sometimes it's off by a mile or more. It's just hit or miss.

I've found mine is usually dead on. And if its not, always within a mile +/- what hand calculations say.

WOW I don't think I have ever gotten that out of my truck! I think the most was like around 330 and that was like one time!
