JET 180 T-Stat is a joke
Does anyone have do it yourself advice, i am going to do the low temp and jet chip soon and i was looking at one instalation guide from a slightly older 4.7 that said i have to remove belts and other items. whereexactly is it located on our engine and is it easily accesible.also, was your running temperature 198 after u had the low temp and jet chip running?
follow the lower rad, hose until you meet the block. there are two screws you need to loosen from the hosing and the stat is right there. no hoses in the way. just remember to drain the fluid from the radiator. there is a small plastic petcock that you need to remove for this. once the stat is changed. just pour the fluid back into the system or put in fresh stuff. also run truck for a while with cap off to let any air escape. my temp with the factory stat was sitting in the middle on the black line. now it is considerbly less than that. truck does like to run cooler
Put my 10177 in along with my Jet StageII. Been in overa year now. My experience is that the system most definitely does run cooler. Maybe that 10177 that mikemis installed was defective.
Come on guys. I rarely state the negative here, but the whole JET line is a joke. Its seen as a joke by most of the tuner community. There entire product line is B*ull****, you just pump premium gas and waste your money.
There tech support is a joke too, you can call them and get a different story everytime, because there products are bogus. Put your money elseware.

Put our money where? Into expensive rear endor cam change outs? Sure, the performance benefits of these mods are significant but how many of us can afford them?Programmers? I have as much chance of being elected Pope as seeing programmers for our Gen3 trucks.
