JET 180 T-Stat is a joke
Hi All,
Just got my 90403-S JET chip today and installed it without a problem. I also installed the 10177 "180 degree" T-Stat.
Previously I had installed a ScanGuage-II digital OBD monitor, so I know the stock T-Stat maintained a constant temperature of 195 degrees at idle on a fall day in Northern California.
With the 10177 installed I get 198 degrees!
Does a new T-Stat need some time to get broken in?
JET techsupp says "sorry, you should put the stock part back in then."
So if you plan to install a 180 T-Stat, just get the $6 variety.

Money back? I have my doubts. I won't even swap it back out unless I get a ping.
It does indeed suck to get ripped off, like when Dodge sold me an iron V-8 suspended by Neon struts...
Maybe when my blood pressure returns to normal I'll share my impressions of the chip's worth.
