seatbelt chime
We, or at least I am, NOT saying "DO NOT" wear your seat belt......
I wear mine all the time driving, but
there are times when working on a vehicle that you do not buckle up, such as backing out of the
garage just to wash your truck. [:@]no need for a chime.....
In my case , my driveway is 500-600 feet long and when I come home and stop at the end of the driveway
to get the mail, I do not rebuckle my seat belt to drive up the driveway.........
The instructions that were posted earlier to disable the chime, was direct from the Dodge Dakota Owners Manual.
Not wearing a seat belt on the road, is against the law, disabling the chime is not.........
NOTE: Although the Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning
Light will continue to illuminate while the driver’s seat belt remains unbuckled.

Nice little trick. But what I want to know is if there's any way to do the same thing for the damn bell that goes on when you turn on the ignition. THAT'S the one that drives me friggin' crazy.
yeah, like everyone else said i wear my seatbelt on the road but when I'm on personal property I don't and I can't stand having the chime going off. Anyways thanks for the help
My sensor or whatever it is that tells the truck the belt is fastened must have gone out because it acts like the belt isn't buckled when it actually is. Is there any way to disable the chime, in my case, without taking it in for repairs? I tried the solution above but it doesn't work in this case.
