How can we drift?

Well, I found out that the reason I couldn't spin the tires is for one...
My 20s weigh in at about 70 pounds per corner...
Had too much air in them...
Wasn't letting clutch out high enough...
Now, I've dropped the psi down to around 32...
Let out clutch around 4,000rpms...
Tires spin... a lot...
Orrrr...... put my stock wheels back on, and just let the clutch out normally, and just stomp on the throttle...
Tires spin... a lot...

Back in the '60's I had a couple of friends that worked inservice stations. We would take customers old tires, mount them, andput in about 50 PSI and burn them up in a few burnouts.
Then go back and get another pair. We even had someone call out the fire department when we filld up a neighborhood sidestreet with smoke one nite . We did our burnouts went around the block and came back to check them out, the firetruck wasthere so we kept on moving.
Try riding 20s with a lot of air in them, and then let out air, and try it again, same spot, same day...
The less air I have in them, the more they spin... end of story.
I know how my truck works...

as a drifter, i can say,you cannot do an actual drift in a dakota, we can kick them sideways, maybe keep them there for a second, but if it jolts you when you stop you understeered, to drift in our trucks you'd need a locked diff, lowered suspension(to keep from rollover), but power doesnt matter, when i started drifting my 240sx had 90hp (whoo-who), and a welded diff, but to be considered a "drift" by judges you have to enter at a good speed 30+ and keep it going for more than 5 sec. and then get out of it without jolting

so what would you call sliding sideways down the street, then changing the direction of the slide? I have done it a couple times (without rolling) Seems like that would be a drift and not power over steering or brake fienting...
drifting is done before the apex of the turn following through to the end, if you come out of a turn then go sideways it is known as a powerslide, but this is all technical, and i guess could be just for fun considered drift, but in an actual event it would not be considered drifting.
My friend driftin his dakota, sorta >>> http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...VideoID=231750
