Kinda. My SPAL contoller is pretty much an advanced relay. The IGN powers the unit to switch on/off a 12ga Batt wire.

If I could find a fuse tap, I would prefer to do it that way. I was pretty disappointed with the local stores.
Well using the Cig Lighter is a good idea. I just wanted to put out an alternative out there if later down the road you knew you'd need more than one power source. For one circuit, IDK if I'd go through the hassle of bringing wire to cab from stock fuse box.

This way you can just hook all your new accessories to this!

That Painless kit is pretty slick. I don't have much use for it at the moment though, beyond the CB hookup. I've already sunk $65 more than I planned in to the antenna, so I'll stick with the cig lighter for now.

Speaking of which...my 5 foot Firestik whip comes today
