If you guys check out the "bob is the oil guy forum" (type that into google) they have extended drain test results for many models from users. The site is for synthetic oil testing/air filter testing/oil filter testing, etc. I remember seeing a v8 05 dakota that had like 12,xxx miles on mobil 1 extended performance and the oil was still usable.

Dusty,
I used to have a Honda Goldwing, and converted the rear end to the 90 weight gear grease and was so impressed that I converted the crankcase to AMSOIL. WhenI did, I had to turn my carbs back, as the engine picked up 750 RPM. I figured that was due to the friction fighting properties of the oil, and also that it had to be saving me money at the gas pump, as my engine wasn't working as hard. I rode the bike without changing the oil for almost a year, when I had to sell it. The buyer was a dear buddy of mine and I filled him in on the AMSOIL switchover. He kept up with AMSOIL, and the last time I saw him, he told me the bike was still going strong, with almost 200K miles on it.

That's a water cooled engine for ya...no V-twinkie is ever gonna last that long...I only have about 26K on my Valkyrie but I know several folks with over 50K and some over 100K

Keep us posted on your oil test. I'm interested how it holds up because I run Mobil 1 thru a K&N oil filter for 15,000. Got 54k on truck now.
i forget the site but they had a comparison of all the brands of filters there was like 20-35 and i remember it said that all a K&N oil filter is is a Mobil 1 filter with anut welded on the end for 5 extra bucks. I would go with a Mobil 1 since its the same internals just a different paint job on the case and a nut welded to the top.

thank you very much!

BTW, I am getting ready to go on my 3rd oil change in 3 years on both the truck and the car using AMSOIL...both previous times the results came back good...used the EA filter and the Signature Series 0w-30 cause that what AMSOIL has that works on both vehicles...
