Techical tire/rim question
Before I call a Dodge dealership, I figured I would post this for the techy guys on here - I have someone who will sell me his 18" BFG A/Ts and rims off of a new 08 Jeep Wrangler.
Do you think they would fit on my 05 Dakota, or how would I go about finding out?

well, lets just check the offset and spacing...
according to tire rack... the jeeps have a spacing of 127, ours is 100. you might want to call the dealer on this one. Tire rack didnt have a 2008 wrangler, so I checked the others that they did have. All were 127... so i am just guessing that the wrangler is too.

Thanks.
BTW, after speaking to the Jeep guy about his tires, turns our they're basic Duelers instead of the BFG A/Ts he said they were. no deal.
How about this - I can get the BFG AT KO 165/75/16 for 180ea. installed, or the OEM size of 265/70/16 for 200+ea. installed.
The tire guy said that you can change the width safely, but messing with the tire height (70 to 75) will screw up payload, 4x4, gas mileage, yadda yadda yadda. That's 80 bucks cheaper for a bigger tire that I cannot use!
Any suggestions?

Sorry folks - obviously I meant to say
265/75/16 down below, not 165...
And if my message wasn't clear, I'm asking is it a bad thing to go with the 75s vs. the 70?

I just spoke to a guy at Tire rack. I mentioned that you run the 245/75/16 - he explained to me that the 75 is a percentage of the 245, and that particulat size is actually a bit smaller than the OE 265/70/16, so you def should not have problems which is good.
He explained that the 265/75/16 is approx. 1.3" taller than the 265/70/16. Without re-cal the speeedo it might be 2 MPH sloweer at 60mph. He also mentioned clearance could be a factor. Other than that, he didn't mention anything about fuel mileage/payload difference, etc.
Does anybody on here run a 265/75/16? I know I've seen previous postings with the same type of questions, the problem is finding them all.....
I knwo one guy runs the BFG AT KOs, I'm going to try to find his tire size...
