Is their a company that makes a performance programmer for a 3rd Gen?
If so, has anybody purchased one yet? Many more questions to follow if someone has one in their garage.

Umm No...

Nor are there many companies that make much of anything for the 3rd Gen...

I kinda figured that was going to be the answer I wuold get from you guys. So months of searching for nothing. I should have joined this forum a long time ago.

So my next question- I'm happy with my *off the line* performance, but not happy when I have someone cruising in the fast lane doing 60mph on the freeway. The truck struggles to downshift into a lower gear to get around them, therefore, lack of a higher rpm (I have an angry lead foot). I have the 3.92 gears. Without changing them, is there a way of getting the trans to downshift? It's a automatic 4.7HO. (And for those who want to throw in the *should have bought the manual*, I average 4,000 miles a month in L.A. traffic..... Sorry)

BTW- thanks to all for alot of ideas so far. Just got back from Pep Boys with my Autolite 3923's. Can't wait to get out there and change them.

For the downshifting on the highway, pop it into tow/haul mode a second or so before you pass. That kicks it down a gear, it will shift back up after a bit if you're just cruising but it shifts more aggressively in that mode. I drive mine around not in tow/haul normally so the computer gets used to my aggressive driving for it's normal shifting and then I can always pop that on when I want to really get on it. It's no substitute for a stick but it's better than nothing.

I have been driving mine like that for years (my 98 Dakota and 06 Dakota) by clicking in the tow/haul mode. I had the Flowmaster Super 44 on my 06 with my exhaust pipe cut just under the cab... pre-runner style. I think I'm just used to hearing the roar of the motor that makes me think I'm going fast. I haven't gotten a new exhaust yet for the 07. It just seams like she struggles to kick down into a lower gear when cruising at 60. And I'm afraid of manually shifting at the column in fear I might kick down into too low of a gear. I think it's just me though.
