Not to get to far of topic, there are a bunch of different ways to mount the brake controller,Some people use a metal mounted bracket or screw it into the dash,I used a 2"X 4" Velcro strip,it's been holding for almost three years.I also used 3/8" black plastic corrugated tubing to keep the wires nice and I zipped tied it to anythingI could to keep it tight to the dash, this way I wouldn't worry about stepping on it when getting in/or out of the truck seat.Blu_

i used the metal bracket and have it mounted just to the right of my right knee. Mine wouldn't quite fit in the cubby hole, and my cubby hole is where Blu's 4x4 switch is, on the far right side of the center console.

Get a Prodigy Brake controller I have had many and they are the best. $100.00 or less. Plug and play, doesn't car what angle you mount it at.

My truck came with the pigtail for the brake deal but I hunted all over under the dash and couldn't find where it would plug in..

Weird, why give a plug if you can't plug it in..

I just installed the Mopar hitch last weekend. Its very easy and only took me around 30 min total. I am installing the wiring harness tomorrow evening, so I will let you know how that goes.

As far as choosing the hitch, I get a discount through my dealer, so my hitch was around $130. I could have purchased the Uhaul, (valley ind) or the Curt hitch. However, I felt that factory usually has a tendancy to fit better...then again, sometimes aftermarket components will fit better than factory.

Thanks for the info, but I knew what the trailer brake harness was. Maybe I needed to be more clear. This one was hanging just left of the center of the dash. It was a harness for someting, but nothing was loose. I am still puzzled by it.

Well, I installed the wiring harness tonight. Plug n play my ***. I had to still solder and heat shrink a wire in for the parking lights. Also, the blue trailer brake wire has to be fed through the firewall. For the most part it plugged in though.

Something that caught my eye was that the mounting location for the 7-way round connector on the hitch is at a 45 degree angle, facing the ground. It is not mounted perpendicular to the ground (like the hitches that come on the truck from the factory).
