Now that's what I like to see, a fellow Dak owner using his truck as a truck and not a sports car!

Hey, Blackdak, I noticed your bull bar(looks good, BTW), and did you have a hard time getting those bolts off of the frame rail? I tried to install my bar, and I couldn't get the friggin' things off!! They just kept spinning, but not loosening. Is there a trick to them?

Nice truck, BTW. I have a black 06 as well. Sport, V8.

I don't know what you mean, getting the bolts off the frame rail? I'm assuming you're asking if I had a hard time taking the bolts off of the tow hooks? I didn't have tow hooks on my truck so I just bolted the bull bar right on. It was a fairly striaght forward process. Sorry I was of no help with that.

This will explain better what I'm talking about:

I don't know what to tell you, I don't think I took any bolts off, I just took the bolts that came with the bull bar and put them through the holes where the factory tow hooks get mounted and tightened the bolts down with a socket wrench and an adjustable wrench.

If your talking about that one existing bolt in the rubber mounting bracket (that they show in your instructions) it looks like you just have to loosen it enough to slide the end of the open bracket in. You might want to try just yanking the bolt out with your hands once it starts spinning, the rubber bushing could be keeping it in there.

I installed a Westin Bull Bar so my directions might have been slightly different, I installed it almost a year ago so my memory is a little rusty on this subject. Hope this helps. Let me know if you figure it out.

I think that rubber bushing on the top of the rail, where the bolts goes through, keeps spinning. I'll have to get a buddy to hold it in place with a set of channel locks when I unscrew the bolt.

Thanks for your input!
