Default Rims???

Okay once again I'm here to pop my head in for a while, its been almost a year since I've been a regular post-er on the forum. Unfortunately I've been busy off my *** between 16 Credit Hours at School, 20 hours at Work, I founded a new side business about a year ago, and the most time sucking thing ever... my girlfriend (I Love her though).

Any way now that Summer has come around I'm thinking of new mods I definitely want to get some General Grabber UHP's I've been thinking about for the last year, however the problem is that I also want new rims specifically the 18x8 Black Painted Cast Aluminum Wheel from the 08 Dakotas. And ofcourse those rims are not the same size as my current rims. So if I want the summer tires to go on the nice rims (which of course I do) I need to buy the rims which from the dealer are about $350 a rim, and with an employee price which I can get they are about $275. All in all I'm looking at about I think close to $1700 for the rims and tires together. I'm just wondering well A if anyone has and wants to sell their 18x8 Black Painted Cast Aluminum Wheel of an 08 Dakota, or if anyone knows where I might be able to find them cheaper. After all us poor college students can't afford alot :-D

Try looking around on google or ebay for replica wheels IMO. Those tend to be much cheaper.

If you are willing to look at aftermarket wheels you can probably get a nice lighter wheel for less. OEM wheels tend to be rather heavy and lighter wheels will help performance and mileage.

Hi Curtiplas,

If you are interested, I have a set of new 2006 Nightrunner tires/wheels (Goodyear OEM) that I am looking at selling. They are perfect! Don't know if you've seen them but they have the "Black Chrome" finish to them. They have less than 2K miles on them... I am selling them for $1200.00 + freight

I'm happy to send any details and pics if you'd like and I'm in California.

No worries either way... Cheers!

I have to be honest... I am not a huge fan of the NR wheels from the dak. The NR ram wheels are way sweeter..
Well as you should remember Eric, I've wanted them since they've come out. However, after seeing the new sport rims for the Dak, I like them so much more than the NR rims. I've always liked the Black rims vs Chrom or even just Aluminum or Steel. I just think the cars look much nicer IMO with OEM rims, they just seem to fit the car/truck much better.
